Vmware Image with Virtual Box (portable) reaches login, no grapical user interface

Description

According to my suggestion ( no link possible ) it seems to me the vmware image v4 uses ide controler instead of scsi now. Because Virtual Box is able to start the image when the bootloader entry is changed from sda1 to hda1. It wasn't possible before. But KDE doesn't start only login is possible.

The portable (out of the box, no installation) Version of Virtual Box can be found here:

I prefer Virtual Box because it is ten times smaller and 100% free.

Thanks

To be fair, the Virtual Box Open Source Edition doesn't support usb devices, which means you must you the closed source edition which is free as in beer but NOT free as in speech (just like vmware player/server). I do agree that I like vbox better as well, I'm sure we can find a way to make our next vm compatible with both.
