fatal error (seems related about cygwin dll?)

Reported by: anonymous Owned by:
Priority: major Milestone: 0.9.2
Component: general Version: 0.9.1
Keywords: cygwin1.dll aircrack fatal error Cc:

Description

When i try to launch aircrack-ng, airodump-ng, aireplay-ng, etc, i got the next message:

6 [main] ? (928) C:\aircrack\bin\aircrack-ng.exe: *** fatal error - system

shared memory version mismatch detected - 0x75BE0096/0x2D1E009C.

This problem is probably due to using incompatible versions of the cygwin DLL. Search for cygwin1.dll using the Windows Start->Find/Search facility and delete all but the most recent version. The most recent version *should* reside in x:\cygwin\bin, where 'x' is the drive on which you have installed the cygwin distribution. Rebooting is also suggested if you are unable to find another cygwin DLL.

I tried with the last stable version and with the last beta and both returns the same problem. I tried too with different cygwin1.dll versions (08,09,18,24 and 25) without success. The number before the tag [main] changes with every version, but the error message remains the same.

My card uses Atheros Drivers, and i can use with it Wildpackets and Commview without problems, and previosuly i've used an old airdump and aircrack versions (no "-ng")without problems too.

The dirs i use are c:\aircrack\bin for the suite's binaries and i added it to the system path. I tried to install cygwin complete from the web and place it at c:\cygwin but doesn't work again.

As you can suppose, there isn't other cygwin1.dll in the system. My Os is WinXP with SP2.

Any ideas about?

That should be fixed in 0.9.2 (there was a bad cygwin1.dll file given in one of the packages (normal or airpcap).

Add/Change #365 (fatal error (seems related about cygwin dll?))
