I don't see why it doesn't work anymore. No code change has been done in aireplay between r270 and r287 (Mosts changes happened in /branch/0.9-dev; just some copyright and changelog updates).

So, I think that's due to your drivers.

(In [293]) Bufferoverflow prevention, fixed wrong array size, added power levels in 0.9-dev (Closes #166).

Same here, Gentoo 2.6.20; madwifi-ng latest svn code; Proxim 8470WD

Same here. Ubuntu 7.04, latest madwifi-ng, no power levels in 0.9. Also no power levels on Debian Etch.

No need to report no power level until a developper tells that it was/should be fixed.

I had the same problem on my wrt54g router. The problem is some drivers only fill in certain values that can be used to display power. In my case, my adapter/driver conbination filled in rssi but not signal and noise (both 0) in the prism header. I can now see power in my customized airodump, but how do we deal with non-compliant drivers so that airodump detects them and works on all of them? that's complicated. Maybe we could look at all the values (rssi, signal, noise), and somehow use those != 0

hi,

sorry for bringing this old post up but this is starting to get the better of me.

i am having the same issue here (airodump-ng showing no power on AP's). started ubuntu 8.04. it was working fine then one day i updated the kernel and now dont have it working with RTL8187 (tried both patched drivers and built in drivers), the zd1211rw and ACX drivers. have also tried re-installing 8.04 without updating, with latest linux mint, ubuntu 7.10 and fedora core 9. all with the standard kernel and after updating. tried the version that installs via apt-get (yum on fedora) and the latest SVN. and after all this its still not working. but it is not an issue with the laptop nor the cards as they work fine in backtrack 3 (uses kernel 2.6.21).

any ideas?

cheers timmo
